Beethoven's score is written on handmade unbleached paper, and the print edition was done on a representative woodfree uncoated paper Sora press cream, produced by the renowned Slovenian company Goričane, whose history dates back to the 18th century.

The National and University Library keeps in its archives a rare document, the original manuscript of Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, also known as the Pastoral Symphony. This handwritten transcript complete with Beethoven's own notes was most likely given in person to the Philharmonic Society by the great composer in 1819 in appreciation of being elected an honorary member.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its founding and the 200th anniversary of the composer's personal contact with Ljubljana, the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana decided to share this valuable document with the wider artistic and scientific public and published scans of the original document. This edition thus rivals the manuscript kept in the composer's birthplace of Bonn and other documents pertaining to this symphony.
